Virgin Radio 95.3 Vancouver is currently playing 3 WineCellar produced songs.

1) Tug Of War - Carly Rae Jepsen

2) Coming Home Soon - Adam Woodall

3) Bucket - Carly Rae Jepsen

Jeff Winskell and Virgin have been a great help in getting our music out there. Thanks guys! They added Tug Of War early on, which helped get other stations nationwide on board. They’ve also taken a chance and are the first to add Adam’s song a couple of weeks ago as well as Bucket, Carly’s 2nd single.

Julie Neumark Signed to Hyena Records - 4 Star **** Review

Monday, October 20th, 2008

WineCellar produced artist Julie Neumark just got signed to Hyena Records out of Europe. I had a great time with Julie producing, performing, and mixing her debut album “Dimestore Halo” last year. Hyena will be releasing the album in Europe later this year.

Here is an excerpt from her 4-Star review in “Revolver Magazine”:

” **** - Musical borders vanish, banjo travelling through a rock & roll landscape, dirty slide guitar and echo’s of old Delta blues in harmony with lovely ballads full of therapeutic selfpity (Wreck Of A Woman).
One of the best debuts this year!” (Revolver Magazine - 2008)

Check out some of Julie’s tunes at her myspace here.

DNA6 Video Release (July 2008)

Friday, August 1st, 2008

I played a great show with Vancouver local Hip Hop band DNA6 for the bands Video Release show at the Red Room on July 24th. The band got a great review at CityInTune.com…Check the full review out here, and check out DNA6 here. The video is below.

“So up stepped DNA6 and… they really came out blazing and had amazing energy throughout their whole set.

A lot is said about the root trio of DNA6 of Alex Maher, MC Dosia (Brett von Brendel) and M. Prime (Mario Vaira), and rightfully so.

They’re a talented trio to say the least with a great MC/soul dynamic that perfectly in both tone and personality - but with a sound so dependent on the rhythm section, I have to sing some praises for bassist David Spidel and drummer Ryan Stewart for not only holding down but driving the beats for DNA6.

Spidel’s walking, optimistic and jazzy hip-hop bass lines a la Tribe Called Quest provide a constant point of interest, and Stewart pops the beat in all the right ways to make your head bob, without over complicating it. So let it be said, without such tight, talented rhythm players like these guys - DNA6 would still shine.

But these guys add to the brilliance of that shine.
